OPI Intensive Participant Finds New Way Of Self-Expression Through Action Workshop

Participants enjoying Action Workshop

One of our Life Coaching Department members and an Expressive Therapy Group Facilitator, Rory Pollinger, recently shared with our OPI Living community about a wonderful Action Workshop participant performance:

“As a part of OPI Intensive, our specialized Borderline Personality Disorder treatment program within the Optimum Performance Institute, we have a weekly workshop that focuses on taking action in your life. The Action Workshop or the “Action App” workshop which we sometimes refer to it as is an opportunity for participants to see their personal passion projects come to life and be recognized for their accomplishments!

This month Aly, one of our participants, completed her project and shared it with our OPI Intensive and OPI Living community. During the Immersion Phase of OPI Intensive, Aly set a goal for herself to complete her project and share it with others. And we’re proud to say that she did it! Aly’s project was to share a self-made book of her personal collages, favorite poems and her own original writings.

Aly came into the action workshop initially stating that she did not enjoy writing very much. Through her own personal growth and self-discovery within the weekly workshop she realized how much she actually does love this type of self-expression and enjoys sharing her writings quite often now.

Aly did her presentation and it was an overwhelming success. She invited the OPI and OPI Intensive community into our final workshop within the series and shared her “work-in-progress.” The response she received by staff and participants was wonderful!

It was a great experience for all who attended. We share in the joy Aly creates for herself by using her creativity and positive energy. She also graciously made parting gifts for all who attended! To everyone’s delight, each person left with an origami paper crane and an inspirational quote hand written on index cards that she decorated.

It was an incredibly moving and positive experience for me as one of the facilitators of this workshop group.”
