Participants Get Crafty to Help the Community

OPI Community Service EventFor our February community service event, the Volunteer and Career Department at Optimum Performance Institute decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day by giving back to the local community. With the holiday right around the corner, participants created personalized and handmade Valentine’s Day cards. Participants were able to get in touch with their inner child and create cards using construction paper, stickers, doilies, and liberal amounts of imagination. These cards went to children who are under-privileged, at-risk, homeless, learning-disabled, abused, orphaned, abandoned, runaways or HIV/AIDS-impacted. Over 2,000 cards were made at the event, and although it was a lot of work, the group felt that they were supporting a great cause.
