OPI Participants Return from Peru

Woodland Hills, CA- Optimum Performance Institute Participants are back after a dramatic trip to Peru where they spent 10 days visiting the Land of the Incas including Machu Picchu and the Manu Wildlife Center in the Peruvian Amazon Basin. They were be accompanied by Program Director, Joseph Roberson.

The customized trip was organized by Geographic Expeditions; a San Francisco-based adventure travel company voted one of the world’s top ten tour operators by Travel & Leisure magazine and a Top Travel Pro by Conde Nast magazine.

Participants visited archeological remains, participated in an Andean-style traditional feast and an ancient Incan ritual and viewed hundreds of parrots and macaws at a clay lick from a floating catamaran.

OPI coordinates trips like this with Geographic Expeditions in order to help participants:
Develop a sensitivity and appreciation for the needs and points of view of others
Learn to appreciate the innate values that makes each of them special
Recognize the importance of qualities such as tolerance and patience—traits that can be gleaned from interacting with others in unique circumstances

OPI is a highly individualized residential/therapeutic and educational program for 17-25-year olds. Participants stay a minimum of 6 months.
