OPI Living Participants Help Local Food Bank’s Efforts to Feed Seniors

OPI Living Participants Volunteer at Local Food BankFor this month’s community service event, planned by the Optimum Performance Institute’s Volunteer and Career Department, we visited a local food bank and supported the efforts of feeding hundreds of senior citizens living throughout the Los Angeles area.

We assisted with food packaging and assembled containers that included canned fruit, cereal, milk and other non-perishable items while working in a large assembly line with other local organizations.

The volunteer project was a great way to utilize our teamwork skills, build relationships with community members and work towards creating change for this important issue affecting thousands living in southern California.

One participant stated during the outing that he realized how fortunate he was and many others shared that they thoroughly enjoyed the community service event.
