“May Madness” Motivates Participants with a Magic Mountain Incentive Trip

OPI participants visit Magic MountainWhat to do when some OPI participants were regularly missing their scheduled appointments? The Extracurricular Activities Department decided that a month-long incentive would be the best way to motivate more consistent follow-through and attendance.

The department’s “May Madness” promotion dangled the enticing lure of a trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain in June for those participants that did not miss any unexcused appointments during the month of May.

Many participants worked extremely hard and 10 were able to achieve this goal! They were recognized with a fun trip to the famous California amusement park on June 29.

One participant stated, “This really helped me keep on track with my appointments.”

OPI Participants visit Magic Mountain“We definitely saw an increase in effort and enthusiasm this past month,” said group leader Kelsey Larson of the Extracurricular Activities Department. “Many individuals worked hard to follow through with their commitments and it was a pleasure to see them do that.

“The good habits these OPI participants formed in May will also serve them well in their personal and professional lives if they maintain this positive behavior.”
