Life in the Stands — OPI Participants Visit Dodger Stadium

OPI Living Participants vistit Dogers GameFor over 50 years, the Los Angeles Dodgers have attracted millions of baseball fans and visitors from all around the world to their home in Elysian Park. As Major League Baseball’s third oldest ballpark, Dodger Stadium is a distinctive venue and a must-see for those in the LA area.

On Saturday, July 27, OPI’s Department of Extracurricular Activities organized an outing for program participants to visit Dodger Stadium and experience a Major-League baseball game. With an exciting, sold-out game to watch plus unlimited food tickets, participants downed famous Dodger Dogs and cheered like “true Blue” fans.

While the heat was typical for a Southern California mid-summer evening, the experience delivered a home run with OPI residents and staff. It didn’t hurt that the Dodgers met and vanquished their long-time rivals, the Cincinnati Reds, 4–1. The local team started that day with the best record in baseball and on track for one of its best months in history.

“It was really fun to watch a game in person and visit Dodger Stadium for the first time,” said one participant. “Definitely something that I can cross off my bucket list.”
