I frequently get asked numerous questions by parents and referring therapists during the admissions process, including those that I’ve featured this month in my blog post series about how many participants reside at any one time in our programs, where participants live and how meals are handled while attending our programs. Below is the third set of questions in my new series. To read all of the frequently asked questions I’ve discussed, visit our FAQs blog category for a complete listing.

Question: How many young adults do you have at OPI and in your OPI Intensive?

Answer: At the Optimum Performance Institute we average between 25 to 30 young men and women. OPI Intensive is small and highly individualized approach with only about 5 to 7 participants at any given time.

Question: Where do participants live while attending your OPI Living programs?

Answer: All OPI Living participants live in beautiful 2-to-3 bedroom apartments in complexes with swimming pools and workout rooms here in Woodland Hills, CA.  They are within walking distance of our OPI offices but, of course, prefer that we drive them back and forth with our included shuttle services.

Question: How do you handle the eating and meal arrangements for participants?

Answer: Independent cooking and shopping for food is part of the growing process for many. They work directly with staff to write up grocery shopping lists and everyone pitches in at mealtime. We include a supervised and guided mandatory cooking class in our programs to help participants familiarize themselves with cooking at a basic level, among other Life Skills Training. On Friday, we take everybody out to dinner to share in the social and group experience of dining out.
