\"steps<\/a>Mindful Eating<\/strong> is a state of being in the PRESENT<\/strong> moment while eating a meal or snack\u00a0in front of you. It requires immense focus\/attention to sensations\u00a0of the body, thus learning to\u00a0fully trust the body\u00a0to guide you to what you need for a full nourishing experience.\u00a0 Mindful Eating is\u00a0so beneficial because the noise of the judgmental\u00a0mind is turned off and the intelligence of the body is allowed to take over.\u00a0\u00a0The angst of what should and should not be eaten is taken away.\u00a0The\u00a0mind wars with food\u00a0cease all together.\u00a0 There is\u00a0true\u00a0peace.<\/p>\n

Ask yourself the following questions to guide yourself\u00a0to a Mindful Eating Practice<\/a><\/strong>:<\/p>\n

1. Notice the level of hunger going into the meal (stomach sensations, possible low energy or irritability).\u00a0 What food is your body calling in? Listen for a response. \u00a0What does your hunger lead you to select in terms of\u00a0food choice\u00a0and\u00a0portion size as well as food combinations?\u00a0\u00a0This is Intuitive Eating.<\/p>\n

2. Once plated,\u00a0notice in\u00a0detail\u00a0the aromas, flavors, textures, and\u00a0colors of each\u00a0food in front of you as well as how\u00a0the foods compliment each other.\u00a0\u00a0Be one with the full sensory experience.<\/p>\n

3. Savor each\u00a0and every bite.\u00a0 Focus on the food.\u00a0Put down the fork often\u00a0to\u00a0enjoy the\u00a0chewing. \u00a0Avoid any distractions. Sit down.\u00a0Turn off the TV, phones, and computers. Most likely you will be more in tuned to when body sensations of fullness arise by doing so.<\/p>\n

4. Catch the mind looping in negativity. If judgment arises in what and how much you are eating, compassionately move to the present moment and know there is peace there. Any rigid rules and food shaming serves no one. All is accepted and allowed.\u00a0Food becomes just food in all its true glory\u00a0without strong negative\u00a0emotions and judgments\u00a0attached.<\/p>\n
