\nOur perspective on\u00a0Learning Disabilities<\/strong>\u00a0reflects our overall perspective for all OPI Living Programs:\u00a0We treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis<\/a>.<\/p>\n If specific learning disabilities are clearly defined, we address them directly through remedial\u00a0educational support<\/a>\u00a0and therapy utilizing credentialed learning disability therapists. We utilize an array of supportive educational approaches: “Books on Tape,” individual tutoring, arranging for extended time in classrooms and\/or note-takers as well as structured study periods and individualized interventions.<\/p>\n However, the process of learning can be affected by complexities that may not be recognized, or more importantly, even appreciated. These complexities include the following:<\/p>\n All these and more must be addressed within a community of supportive peers and mentors if one is expected to be motivated and enthusiastic enough to complete the following actions:<\/p>\n How do young adults become passionate enough to do this? How do they get excited about their lives, their futures, themselves (i.e. their self esteem and confidence) so they have the ability\u00a0and desire<\/em>\u00a0to persevere?
