Meaningful Art Activity Inspires OPI Participants to Channel Emotions and Positive Creativity

Here at the Optimum Performance Institute within the Department of Extracurricular Activities we have an official Art Club and lately the Art Club has really been making an effort to get participants to express themselves through fun and engaging creative means.

In recent months, OPI Living program participants who join activities with the Art Club have been energetically contributing their own original craft ideas and have been quite successful in conjuring up the majority of the group’s interest to try out the new ideas.

Just recently, the Art Club chose to create an art piece called, “Crayon Expressions.” This particular piece of art was constructed by gluing crayons to a canvas and melting the crayon wax onto the canvas as well for a colorful expression.

The different colors melted down together and created beautiful splashes of vibrant color. Participants either wrote a message or word describing what they felt onto the canvas as well to personalize the artwork.

This creative process really helped participants to channel their emotions in an artistic and positive way, resulting in a thoughtful new piece of art!
