DBT Interpersonal Effectiveness Skills Video | Part One: DEAR MAN

DBT DEAR MAN Interpersonal Effectiveness videoCurious to see what the DBT skills looks like in action? Check out Optimum Performance Institute‘s new DBT skills animated videos as a reference to get a better understanding!

For several months we have been in the process of creating a series based on the four modules of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which include Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation and Distress Tolerance. In our series, we’ll touch upon the individual skills associated with each of module.

We are utilizing these videos as a supplemental resource in our skills groups as well as during staff trainings. The reviews have been positive. We would now like to share these videos so that our participants’ families, friends, and community members have the opportunity to check out the skills.

We encourage that DBT skills be used in everyday situations so they can be more easily accessed during times of emotional dysregulation. This video is the first in the Interpersonal Effectiveness series, and it features an example of applying  DEAR MAN skills in an everyday situation. Give it a try, and let us know what you think!
