New OPI Participant Volunteer Hours Tracker

opi volunteer program hours trackerSeveral years ago the Department of Volunteer and Career at the Optimum Performance Institute implemented a mandatory volunteer commitment for all participants in Phase 1 and Phase 2 of our program. Prior to this requirement, volunteering was not consistent, and many participants were expressing their concern over the purpose. They were unable to make the connections between volunteering and their personal development, career paths, and re-launch into the community.

By restructuring, setting guidelines, and introducing the idea of a Gap Year, we have noticed tremendous growth in both attendance and spirit within our volunteering activities. Incoming participants often get inspired by opportunities that current participants are a part of, and participants with consistent commitments have pride in their accomplishments. Since volunteering is such a huge part of OPI, we have decided to track the amount of hours that OPI, as a whole, contributes to the community through individual commitments and with our community service. You can find our new tracker HERE.

In just the first two weeks, we have already contributed 56 hours and we can’t wait to see the year-end total. We are already hearing that the online tracker is motivating, as it shows our direct impact on the community.
