OPI Participants Helped with Operation Gratitude for July Community Service Event

OPI Participants support Operation GratitudeSince July is time to celebrate the nation’s independence, here at the Optimum Performance Institute within our Department of Career, Volunteer and Community Services, we decided to focus our recent community activity towards the currently deployed service members that protect our country.

OPI participants took part in Operation Gratitude, an organizational effort run by a non-profit volunteer-based corporation that annually sends 100,000 care packages to Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines who are currently serving this nation.

Operation Gratitude’s mission is, “to lift morale, bring a smile to a service member’s face and express to our Armed Forces the appreciation and support of the American people.”

These care packages are filled with snacks, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation. OPI participants were able to create thoughtful letters and art showing their gratitude, which would be included in care packages being sent out.

It was a great day of food and fun for OPI participants and a great way to celebrate our nation’s heroes through volunteerism and caring gestures during the month of July.
