Jessie Steinberg is an alumna of the University of California at Santa Barbara where she received a degree in Sociology and Applied Educational Psychology. After finishing her undergraduate education, she attended California Lutheran University Graduate School of Counseling and Guidance where she was awarded a Master of Science degree in Counseling and Guidance with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential.
Jessie began her professional career working as a Counseling Aide for a high school in the Los Angeles Unified School District. There, she counseled students on an individual basis as well as in group settings. These counseling groups targeted female students who were at-risk for academic failure and focused on providing social-emotional support. During the time of her employment by the school district, Jessie also volunteered with OURHOUSE Grief Support Center.
Following these experiences, Jessie was chosen to become the Program Coordinator for an after-school agency contracted through Beyond the Bell. As Coordinator, she oversaw twelve school programs and worked closely with site coordinators to ensure specific programs were offered and fully implemented.
