OPI Living Participants Attend Regional “Tapestry of Life” TEDx Event

Throughout the year a group of great minds get together to share innovative ideas at TED conventions across the globe.

In the spirit of this principle, TEDx events were created as a way to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.

This month, the Optimum Performance Institute’s Department of Educational Services provided participants the privilege of attending TEDx in Topanga, CA. The theme of this particular talk was, “The Tapestry of Life.”

Sandra Paul, Rebecca Amis, Peter Brown and Joseph Rosendo (pictured below) each presented a lecture as headline speakers for the event. The four speakers used their personal expertise in areas of peace activism, education, directing and travel journalism to talk about how our decisions affect our world.

Another common thread throughout each lecture was about how to prepare current and future generations to honor traditions while allowing customs and traditions to be malleable enough to honor the emotions and history behind them for a sustainable future in modern culture.

OPI Living Program participants were inspired by the TEDx event and discussed what they had learned on the ride home.
